how many of you have pet lobsters?

Answers:
I've never met anyone with one, but if I did, they'd be the most awesome person ever :) I have a slight obsession with lobsters.
not me
why would you want to have one
i've never been able to keep one for too long. i give them a good hot bath, and it's all over for them. at least they taste good in butter. i named my last one "pinchy".
Many people with marine aquariums have lobsters and there are several colorful species from the Indopacific region. Some are not good in a community aquarium and are only suitable when small. The red Lobster of the Philippines is a bright orange color but some of the spiny lobsters have shades of olive, blues, greens and white on them but the spiny lobsters can grow quite large and weigh several pounds. Slipper lobsters are found in both the Atlantic and Pacific and are interesting animals but they are rather shy and not often seen. The heavy-clawed lobster of the Northern Atlantic are very destructive and require a very large aquarium and a cooling system to keep them alive. Their temperature range is just a little above freezing and an increase to 40 degrees causes them discomfort and they become flaccid. The life cycle is very interesting and many attempts have been made to grow them in laboratories or on fish farms, but because of the predatory nature, they have to be kept individually. If you want one as a pet, you'll need the right conditions to keep it healthy.
