how do you litterox train a ferrit?

Answers:
first off go by a long john litter box they are great(it attaches to the cage, mine like to push the box around) then 1.put your ferret in the box when you see him going if you don't catch it just but the poo in the box and show it too him 2.fill the other corners with stuff if it is multi levels you can get some corner deterent springs. they are not as good as cats and will miss some. also for outta the cage grab some extra boxes for the corners of the room. repeat step one if you don't want all those literboxes to clean get some carpet runners cut into 2' by 2' squares slit one side so it fits in a corner tape that to the wall then get some newspaper and tape on the runner. but to litter train it right start out by allowing acess to one room until it gets the hang of the litter thing, you can then start removing the boxes or runners slowly until one is left then add one room at a time covering all corners and remove one at a time as with the first room. just remember to clean boxes ALOT mine use it 3 times then go elsewhere if i don't clean it. let your ferret decide which is its favorite corner.
if his cage is big enough put a corner shaped litter box in one corner of the tank (the one it already poops in). then you can try to put the box in a corner of a small ferret proof room to see if it will use it. always remember the corners, they love to do their stuff in corner.
Find out where it likes to poop and then just put a litter box there

P.S. change the litter! ferrets like to have clean cages, but they cant exactly change the litter!
it is very tricky. i have a ferret and he still poops on the levels. so i put little litterboxes on the levels to help him out. leave a little bit of waste in the litter box so they know thats where to go. it takes time for them to get in routine of the litter box.
They are all right. Put a litterbox in the corner where they poop the most. In the other 3 corners of the cage, but a bed, the food, and the water. Ferrets wont tend to go where they eat and sleep (although some do). If you have multiple levels, you might have to put a litter box in each level. If you let your ferret run around the house, put a litterbox in each room where he can find it. Ferrets are lazy, so when they gotta go and they cant find a litterbox immediately, they will just go right where they are, so you may have to put a lot of litterboxes around. You can also put some of the ferret's poo in the box to show him that's where he should go. If your ferret tends to forget where to go, then always leave a little poo in your litterbox after cleaning it. You can also try Critter Litter from Superpet which you can get from Petsmart. It's training litter and a little expensive, but after your ferret gets the hang of it, you can switch to a cheaper litter. Critter Litter gives off a smell that makes the ferret want to go in it. Yesterday's News is a good cheap brand of litter. Good luck!
