How do you get raccoons to leave your yard?

We have some living in the storm drain, in front of our house. I have called the city animal control. They have done nothing.

They sure are cute. There is one big mommie and seven littel ones.
Answers:
Why do you want them to move? They need somewhere to live.
Start throwing food in your neighbors yard
i shot one with a bb gun it won't kill it they just leave after 2 shots
There's something around there that is an attraction to them. Do you, or any of your neighbors have bird feeders around with seed in them? Exterior trash cans? That's the sort of thing that will keep them in an area. Below is a good link to read about getting rid of the the problem.
are you a schitzophrenic

first you say you want them to leave
.then you go on on how cute they are
leave them alone
enjoy the free show of nature that you are privy too

Nature is being lost at an amazing rate globaly

if you are lucky to have some near you
treasure it
put some food out for the racoons
some peole have them as pets
they can get very tame

tell the city animal controll to shove it.

make sure you don't have anything in the yard to attract them..do not leave out pet food or water, and make sure garbage can lids are on tight. Raccoons are known for their skills at getting lids off of garbage cans. Hopefully the babies will be leaving the mom soon and at least they may disperse and you will not have as many around. If animal control removes them, their chances of survival will be lessened as they may relocate them to an area where other raccoons already have territories and they may kill the babies and the mother. Wait it out, and see if they will leave on their own.once the babies are big enough.
WAIT! cute? not so cute when they are shredding a chicken whilst it lives screeching! or baby ducks! or your CAT! yes! I live on remote acreage with all of Mother Natures critters and constantly mended fences. The lights are not a deterrent but they don't care for hip hop or loud rock music.or the hose! they can find a way inside if they see or smell food they adore dry cat food Their paws are like hands they are said to be very smart ( so far they are outsmarting me) I have lost chickens and a cat garden bulbs veggies etc the moth balls in a sack hung on the fence may help sorta.I don't know I think I'll start naming them.
Make sure there is nothing around for them to eat. Keep your trash cans secured and don't put any pet food or wild bird food outdoors. Ask your neighbors to do the same and hopefully they'll seek out greener pastures elsewhere.
quit feeding them
