How do you know when a horse is happy?

Dogs wag their tails and cats purr, so how do you know when a horse is happy? Thanks.

When a horse is relaxed, the ears will go back slightly (not flat back, that means they're about to take your arm off), they might rest a back leg up, and they're eyes are closed. However, this is more describing a relaxed horse, and now i consider the question, its a little more difficult that i had thought! A happy horse is one seeing food being brought to it i suppose, so ears forward, eyes alert and perhaps a little neigh at the bucket, not the owner!
His peter is stiff
Horses neigh when they are happy .
Peter must be on Viagra LOL
when they have plenty of grass and a place to run, they will neigh when they see you. they want to be with you.
uh.. they kinda nuzzle sometimes.
When you see his big yellow teeth smilin at ya !

They nicker; kind of a soft neigh. A shrill neigh usually means they are excited about something (you've just shown up with a treat or there is a snake in the hay, or something like that).

That's what my horses used to do anyway. When they were happy they would be extra affectionate and nuzzle me and nicker when I scratched their ears.
my horse rubs his head on me paws the ground and shakes his head like hes saying yes he willll bring the lead rope and drop it on the ground..he loves to go riding..he will whinny and trot around me..playfully nip at my shoulder
use you intuition to make the call the same way that any one knows when another person, pet etc, is happy
Ears pricked and they are just acting lazy pretty much. If they are in their paddock they may roll, though watch to make sure they aren't showing the whites of their eyes and breaking into a sweat when they are doing this. They may also rear, buck and just run for the fun of it. A depressed horse will stop eating and never run.
The horse can indicate its own feelings in a number of ways and the ears are a good indication of what is going through a horse's mind.

Ears Alert and Foward

Ears pricked alert and facing foward indicate the horse is happy and interested
